    The Dolphin Project will be exhibiting at the 

    SKIDAWAY MARINE SCIENCE DAY 

    at the UGA Skidaway Marine Science Campus. 

    on Saturday, October 12th from 12noon to 4:00pm.

       This event will feature behind the scenes tours at the UGA Aquarium,

    touch tanks, visits to the R/V Savannah, reptile displays,

    oyster hatchery tours and dolphin info from TDP!!!

    This is a great event for kids of all ages.

    TDP needs volunteers to service our booth.

    We won't have to deal with a tent.

    We're allowed a minimal display, so setup and pack-up

    will be comparatively easy.

    If you can volunteer for any time during the SKIO event, please sign up.

    TDP Volunteers will be permitted time to check out the other exhibits.

      Skippers, Team Leaders, Photographers and Team Leader Assistants are needed. 

    Liability forms must be signed and witnessed

    The Dolphin Project is hosting an educational and entertaining dolphin program and training workshop via ZOOM.  Training will last under 3 hours and will consist of two parts. 

     Part ONE - focuses on the coastal environment which is home to the estuarine Bottlenose dolphins. This program will go into detail about the anatomy and behaviors of these amazing animals with video and audio.

     Part TWO - covers the protocol of the Photo-ID research surveys and additional information about the dolphins as it relates to the research and surveys.  Training is open to all ages, however, to participate in a survey, you must be at least 16 years of age. Survey Crews consist of a Photographer, a Team Leader, Assistant Team Leader and Skipper.   To participate in research surveys, both parts of the ZOOM program must be completed.

     Not all members of The Dolphin Project choose to participate in surveys. Other options of participation include Education Outreach events and serving on various committees. TDP goes on the road presenting to organizations and schools and participates in festivals and works with other like-minded environmental organizations.

     On rare occasions, the training may be postponed, so if your reservation has not been confirmed, please text 912-657-3927 or email: thedolphinproject@gmail.com prior to the day of the Workshop.

    The Georgia Association of Marine Educators annual Conference will be held at the Jekyll Island Beachview Club Hotel from Friday, November 8th through Sunday November 10th.

    GAME is a state chapter of the National Marine Educators Association (NMEA) and membership includes both formal and informal educators.  

    GAME connects natural phenomena to the classroom through citizen science. Citizen science is an integral part of data collection for many researchers and can be utilized by both formal and informal educators.

    2024 Tree Lighting & Winter Market 

    at JF Gregory Park in Richmond Hill GA. 

    on Thursday, December 5th, 5:30-8:30pm

       This event will feature Mr. and Mrs. Santa. The Richmond Hill Tree Lighting, live entertainment, gingerbread contest, vendors, food trucks, kids events, etc.

    TDP needs volunteers to service our booth.

    We will be under the Park Pavilion with a minimal display

    to sell adoptions and TDP swag.

    We'll set up at 4:00 pm  Setup and pack-up will be comparatively easy.

    The College of Coastal Georgia will be hosting its annual Coastal Science Symposium.

     The annual event brings together students, faculty, collaborators, and community members to explore coastal and marine research, management, conservation, and more!     

    The symposium features the work of Coastal Georgia students, who will present posters on their research and experiential learning in biology and environmental science. Community partners will also provide educational exhibits and opportunities to get involved in science and conservation on the Georgia coast and beyond. 

    The symposium is free and open to the public – no registration is necessary.  However, if you would like to help hosting The Dolphin Project display, please register here.
